As the Miami Heat continue to explore ways to build out the supporting cast around Giannis Antetokounmpo in year one, Gabe Vincent is a name that has naturally come up. And, according to some recent reporting, he's a former Heat player that Bam Adebayo would love to see get a second chapter with the organization.

However, at least for now, the Heat don't have much interest in crossing that bridge again. While the Heat are likely going to sign another guard/wing or two before the start of training camp, it doesn't appear likely that Vincent is going to make the cut.

Per longtime Heat insider Barry Jackson, the team has opted against bringing back Vincent at this time. Instead, the Heat are looking for bigger guards. While Vincent is one of the Heat's most recent success stories, Miami is looking to other avenues for now.

Could that change? Sure. However, at this moment, it doesn't appear as if Miami is going to grant Bam's desire to bring Vincent back.

Gabe Vincent could be an option for the Heat down the line?

But, again, maybe this could change in a couple of months. If a few more of the Heat's targets fly off the board, I suppose nothing could be considered impossible. For example, if LeBron James doesn't decide to sign with the Heat, and DeMar DeRozan chooses to follow LeBron or have a homecoming of his own in Toronto, that could leave Miami with not many other veteran options.

At that point, would the Heat be more open to Vincent?

Because of the familiarity that Vincent has with the Heat (and that the Heat have with Vincent), that can't be considered off the table. And perhaps it's something that both sides will explore in the future.

If there's one thing that has been proven true over the last few years for Vincent, it's the fact that he never seemed to be the same player in Los Angeles as he was in Miami. For one reason or another, the Heat were able to get the best out of Vincent during his time in Miami.

If Vincent does indeed believe that to be so, or if there's even some level of truth to that, it would make sense that he'd be open to a reunion now that his contract with the Lakers has ended. If that's going to happen, though, he's going to need the Heat to be equally open to it.

For now, no matter how much Bam may want to see it happen, it's not in the cards. But with so much uncertainty regarding the Heat's current roster, it wouldn't be all that surprising if that were to change in the future. And if Bam is indeed advocating for this to happen, maybe there's a slightly greater possibility of it happening.

At the very least, it's certainly something to keep a close eye on.
