Bam Adebayo’s untouchable status just hit a terrifying Heat reality

Given the circumstances, it should be pretty obvious.

The Miami Heat are currently taking a lot of things into consideration as it pertains to their offseason, and what the right moves to make should be. There's certainly a few different directions they can take, but one thing should be abundantly clear: If Giannis Antetokounmpo is available in a  hypothetical trade, no one on the Heat's roster should be off limits. Not even Bam Adebayo.

Obviously, in a vacuum, Adebayo and Tyler Herro are the two best and most important players on this roster. When it comes to making less significant moves and/or strengthening Miami's bench, these two guys should be seen as untouchables. But when a superstar like Antetokounmpo enters the equation, that goes out the window.

While there's no guarantee Giannis leaves the Bucks this summer, the fact that he's exploring other options outside Milwaukee for the first time in his career is a significant enough development for a team like the Heat to be keeping their eyes and ears to the ground.

Something that's very important to note here concerning Adebayo is that he shares an agent with Antetokounmpo. Both are represented by Alex Saratsis of Octagon Athlete Representation. That's something that could come into play should Miami begin to seek out ways to acquire Giannis.

The Heat should be willing to deal Adebayo in a Giannis trade

Obviously, the Heat will want to do right by their current star as much as they possibly can. But with that said, Miami can and should do everything in their power to get Antetokounmpo to South Florida, with no deal being completely off the table.

The time is now for the Miami Heat to shift their fortunes. Trading Jimmy Butler was necessary given how that entire situation played out, but it unfortunately left this team in limbo. It's time the Heat return to what has made them successful for so many years: Being aggressive and seeking out big moves.

This has been one of the premier franchises in the Eastern Conference and the NBA for quite some time, but they didn't get there by being idle and just hoping the players they draft turn into rotational players. The Heat have always sought out risky but transformational moves that have driven them to incredible heights.

That's why going after Giannis this summer is so crucial. It's not often a top three player in the world becomes available, and Antetokounmpo would shift this team's direction immediately and sharply. Miami's supporting cast would of course need to be upgraded before this roster is worthy of being called championship level, but there's no question number 34 would change things overnight.

With all that in mind, there's zero reason why the Heat should be viewing Bam Adebayo or anyone else currently on the roster as a no-go if Giannis Antetokounmpo is indeed available. Keeping any of your best current players would certainly be preferable, but you do whatever you have to do to get a superstar like that in your locker room.
