The Miami Heat can't seem to quit the Giannis pipe dream. And with the latest Giannis Antetokounmpo update, they have no reason to. According to NBA insider Jake Fischer, the Heat would be his best prediction on a potential Giannis landing spot if he asked out.

Fischer did say that a Giannis trade right now doesn't seem realistic because the Milwaukee Bucks have every intention to keep him, and they just added Myles Turner as a great counterpart to their superstar forward. However, Fischer also noted that the Heat have been strategically waiting for their opportunity to pounce on Giannis.

And while it may not happen this summer, it's certainly not completely out of the question in the future.

More than anything, that's what this organization and front office have excelled at. While the Heat has emerged as one of the best developmental organizations in the league, they still pride themselves on star acquisitions. Their last one for Jimmy Butler may not have paid off with a championship, but they did get awfully close two times.

The Heat's pursuit of their next star

Now that Jimmy is no longer in the picture, the Heat are looking for their next opportunity to land a star player. Giannis has been a player the Heat have long desired, and we may be getting closer and closer to that potential reality.

Even beyond Giannis, the Heat continues to look for its next superstar to help push this team's build forward. While many expect Miami to take a "gap year" this season, if the right opportunity emerges for the team to make a big splash, we can't completely discount the posisbility of the Heat pulling off a blockbuster trade.

For now, though, it does appear as if the Heat is going to enter the season with their current roster. In a position to have plenty of flexibility next summer, there's a reasonable chance this team is preparing for a big move to take place in 2026.

I'm not sure what the front office truly has in mind, but at this point, Giannis could very well factor into those plans.

As much as Heat fans may want to give up and pivot toward a new dream, it's still entirely too early to lose all hope of the possibility of Giannis. And, if nothing else, this speculation does seem as if the Heat will have as good a chance as any other team to pry him away from Milwaukee.
