The Miami Heat have finally landed Giannis Antetokounmpo. And there may not be anyone happier than Bam Adebayo.
Especially after the Jimmy Butler situation, Bam was yearning for the opportunity to play next to another superstar player. And even though that possibility looked grim this past season, Bam continued to trust the front office that had come through for him in the past.
Miami managed to do it again via a huge overnight blockbuster trade for Giannis that will certainly go down in Miami sports history books.

And now that Bam finally has his running mate, one who is on another entirely different level than even Jimmy, he couldn't be any happier.
Sure, the Giannis trade doesn't guarantee the Heat anything but much more intrigue heading into the start of the new season, but this is the type of move that stars across the league beg their front offices to make.
With this move, not only are the Heat saying they believe Giannis is still an A1 MVP type of player in this league, but this is also a move that shows their value in a player like Bam. Because Miami could've easily pivoted to a rebuild or forced Bam to wait until their young core continued to develop further.
They didn't. They couldn't. The Heat went all-in on Giannis, and won.
But the work isn't done. Everyone knows this. But, to their credit, the Heat's front office just pulled off one of the biggest moves in recent history.
The Heat's front office deserves its flowers
After a couple of years, and perhaps more, of real criticism and pushback from the fans and NBA media as a whole, you can't help but give the Heat's front office some real credit for what they managed to pull off with this blockbuster deal for Giannis.
There will be some who question if the Heat gave up too much. But when it comes to a top 5 player in the league, that generally never matters in the long run. The front office did what it needed to do to acquire Giannis, and this experiment would need to be an absolute disaster for there to be any regret.
Even then, that's no guarantee.
But even after all the noise and criticism after the NBA Trade Deadline and over the past couple of offseasons in which they refused to go all-in for players like Kevin Durant, the Heat have finally been vindicated.
That said, there's still no bigger winner in this deal than Bam. After a season that had to be extremely difficult for him, the front office finally proved that his patience paid off.
