It's no secret that the Miami Heat are hot on the trail of Kevin Durant, and Tyler Herro did little to hide that while hanging out with popular livestreamer Adin Ross. When asked which players were in his "top 5" or all-time starting 5, Herro named Steph Curry, Kobe Bryant, LeBron James, and then said Kevin Durant's name three times with a coy smile.

It was an interesting clip, to say the least. On the one hand, this could've just been Herro playing the content game with one of the best. The internet is all about getting clips, and there's no question Herro did that by answering this question in this manner. It worked, clearly. However, at the same time, it was almost as if he was excitedly hiding something more. For Heat fans, that has to be the hope.

Miami has been one of the handful of teams that have been willing to strongly pursue KD, and one that has held trade talks with the Phoenix Suns recently. Where those talks have taken them remains to be seen, but the Heat are absolutely pursuing KD. Herro knows that and made it seem as if there was something more that he couldn't share.

An updated Kevin Durant trade timeline

There has been recent reporting that suggests that there's a growing expectation that not only will KD be traded before the June 25 NBA Draft, but there's a good chance that it happens at some point next week. If that's how this story is accurately trending, the Heat will get plenty of answers to some of their bigger offseason questions.

For a team that's looking to make a big splash this offseason, there's a certain level of clarity that won't be realized by the Heat until the KD situation is settled. Whether that's KD being traded to the Heat or not, Miami's offseason plans are likely going to be dictated by what happens over the next couple of weeks.

It's not just the Heat. For many other teams, the argument could be made that KD is the first big domino that will fall in the NBA. It will greatly impact things at the NBA Draft and how teams are going to operate heading into the start of free agency.

The Heat and Herro are hoping that the first big move falls in their favor. If there's anything we can read from Herro's "viral clip," it's that there may be a certainly level of confidence that the team may have as we inch closer and closer to decision time for KD, the Suns, and his camp.
