In today’s edition of Miami Heat Hot Topics, we’ll catch up on the stories we’ve written so far this past week here at All U Can Heat. Among our topics, we discussed the best and worst case scenarios for the Heat in 2019-20, the versatility of the team’s big men and we took a look at Tyler Herro‘s Rookie of the Year chances.
Without further ado, we’ll get started on our recap.
Best case scenarios for the Heat:
Worst case scenarios for the Heat:
The Miami Heat have some real boom-or-bust potential next season. A roster which has shown a tendency to be injury-prone has added Jimmy Butler, a player who has only played over 67 games twice in his career. If he can stay healthy and the rest of the regular contributors on the roster can stay on the floor, things could go pretty well for this team. If they suffer characteristic injury issues or Jimmy Butler gets sick of his teammates, things could go sideways quickly.
Meyers Leonard showing what he can bring to the Heat:
Bam Adebayo continues to impress with his skills:
Meyers Leonard was added this summer to a Heat roster with a number of versatile big men. While Butler was the headlining acquisition for team president Pat Riley, Leonard is one of the better shooting bigs in the NBA and could be a huge boon for a team that was in the bottom third of the league from 3-point range. Alongside Leonard is Bam Adebayo, who will get a whole season to start at center for the first time in his career.
Collection of Heat big men represent peak versatility:
During versatility week here at All U Can Heat, our Kenneth Wilson broke down just how the Heat can utilize the various elements of versatility brought to the table by the big man core of Adebayo, Leonard and Kelly Olynyk.
Why Tyler Herro could be Rookie Of The Year:
No question he’s an underdog, but Tyler Herro isn’t drawing dead for next season’s Rookie Of The Year award. He would be the first Heat rookie to win the award if he was able to pull off this feat, but he would have to topple a literal giant in the form of Zion Williamson to do it. Kenneth Wilson explores this possibility.
