The Miami Heat selected Precious Achiuwa with the 20th pick in the Draft. What are some reasonable goals for his rookie season as they hunt another title?

Precious Achiuwa fell to the Miami Heat at pick number 20, and instantly it felt like a win-win situation for both the player and the franchise. Achiuwa’s strengths align with what the Heat culture is all about and his upside made him a no-brainer pick once Miami was on the clock.

His long-term potential is very high for a player selected at 20th overall and the Heat can afford to develop him before relying on him in meaningful minutes. That’s a plus for Achiuwa as well, as he will be given the opportunity to learn from veterans such as Udonis Haslem and Andre Iguodala, among others.

The Heat are coming off an NBA Finals appearance and have a rotation that will be tough to crack for the forward out of Memphis early in his career. Still, there’s plenty of opportunity over an NBA season, especially one with the unknowns of the 2020-21 NBA season.

Achiuwa should be focused on developing, learning, and doing whatever is asked of him by the coaching staff. If he wants to maximize his potential, here are three goals he should have for his rookie season.
