The Miami Heat came into Wednesday’s contest against the Philadelphia 76ers even more short-handed than they have been in recent weeks. While the usual suspects (Jimmy Butler, Bam Adebayo, Markieff Morris, and Caleb Martin) remain in street clothes, Tyler Herro joined the inactive crew with a bruised quad.
That means that more minutes and therefore, more fantasy basketball potential, fell to the starters for Miami. With every starter playing over 30 minutes for the Heat, there were plentiful stat lines for all five in the starting unit.
Unfortunately, the reserves did not see much floor time and did not impact the game nearly as much from a fantasy perspective due to their limited minutes.
Surprisingly, Dewayne Dedmon led the starters for the Heat. Making the most out of a tough matchup with Joel Embiid, Dedmon nearly outplayed the All-Star center.
With five Miami Heat rotation players out, the starters carried them to victory in Philly against a healthy 76ers squad. Gabe Vincent Had A Game Too.
He would finish with 10 points, 14 rebounds, five assists, two steals, and an elite 5/8 shooting from the field. Dedmon’s 40.3 fantasy points were the most of any Heat player on the night.
As a fill-in starter, Gabe Vincent produced one of his best games of the season. Proving that he could provide exceptional streaming value this week, Vincent splashed in 26 points and seven triples on his way to 30.9 fantasy points.
For the first time in his last five games, Kyle Lowry produced under 35 fantasy points. The incredible run he had been on was unlikely to sustain for much longer.
A combination of excellent 76ers defenders made his life miserable all evening long. Lowry finished with six turnovers and on his way to a measly 22.7 fantasy points, all in a massive 38 minutes of action.
Finally, Duncan Robinson, who still did not shoot particularly well, found a way to contribute in multiple areas. Finishing with 21 points, Robinson also secured eight boards and drained four triples.
His 38.1 fantasy points was over two times his average across his last four games, just 18.05 fantasy points per game across that span.
The Heat found an unlikely win in Philadelphia on a night when five rotation players did not dress. If Herro continues to miss time on Miami’s current road trip, Dedmon and Vincent could both be worth a look in standard 12-team leagues.
Depending on whether a manager needs guard or big man stats, these two should provide ample minutes in the Miami Heat’s two remaining games this week. Snatch them up!
