The Miami Heat had Super Bowl Sunday off. With just two games on the NBA schedule early on the day of the NFL’s Big Game, the Miami Heat got some well-deserved rest after a game on Saturday night that they made harder than it had to be.
Allowing a roster-challenged Brooklyn Nets to close a 20 point gap late in the game, the ending of the contest would not properly reflect the dominance that the Heat put on display in, yet another, recent third period.
With Kyrie Irving, a great player and even with all his quirks, on the other side, it isn’t that awfully hard to see how they made it a close one. The Miami Heat got the win though and that’s all that matters.
Putting that game down as a victory and behind them should have been easy to do.
The Miami Heat had Super Bowl Sunday off, but their best player saw himself working, kind of. Jimmy Butler was featured in one of the better ads on Sunday.
While they don’t actually play again until Tuesday, welcoming Luka Doncic and the Mavericks to the FTX Arena, the Miami Heat’s best player found himself on the national stage again during Sunday’s Super Bowl.
Continuing his partnership with Michelob Ultra, the Miami Heat’s frontman, Jimmy Butler, saw himself among other global superstars for what would be one witty ad from the beer makers. It was a spot focusing around a bowling alley, aptly named “Superior Bowl”, that saw all the stars make their way to the lanes.
The ad spot features Butler, along with Serena Williams, Peyton Manning, Nneka Ogwumike, Brooks Koepka, Alex Morgan, and Steve Buscemi as the lone operator of “Superior Bowl”. The spot features quite a few memorable moments.
If you would notice, all of the people that actually bowl in the commercial have their own “themed” balls.
Jimmy has a Miami Heat themed ball, red and black with a Rorschach type blot design (appropriate for a dude as nuts and intense as he can be), Peyton Manning has an orange one for either or both of the Tennessee Vols and the Denver Broncos, while Nneka Ogwumike has a LA Sparks golden ball, and Alex Morgan’s ball is, obviously, a soccer ball.
Peyton Manning, at one point, also gives Jimmy the classic “Jimmy Butler smooch” from his infamous confrontation with T.J. Warren.

Anything Manning seems to touch in his post-football career has turned into gold, so it isn’t a shocker here. It was a great touch and the spot was great, overall.
While, again, the Miami Heat don’t get back on the television until Tuesday, it was awesome to see Jimmy flash across your screen during the Big Game.
