The Miami Heat are among several teams still, more than likely, vying for the services of Kevin Durant. Without any movement on the front since his request about a month ago, the Miami Heat would have a few holes to fill in the unfortunate event that he ends up somewhere else or right back in Brooklyn next season.

Though he has requested a trade from the Brooklyn Nets, there has been minimal movement on that front with him or Kyrie Irving, proving not to be as simple as asking out would have made it seem. Well, that may be all about to change.

Though there isn’t any indication of in which direction or if it may be about to change, at all, there are reports out there that mention a potential path-altering event on the horizon. Reportedly and according to Heavy.com, Kevin Durant and Nets owner, Joe Tsai, are supposed to meet or have already.

The Miami Heat are still hoping to land a big-name guy via trade. One of them, Kevin Durant, will clarify things soon in a reported meeting with his team.

Here is a blurb from the report. It comes from an anonymous league executive according to the piece.

"“What I’m hearing is that KD is going to meet with the owner this week,” the source told Heavy Sports. “He’s going to go directly to the owner, Joe Tsai, sometime this week. We’ll see how that works.”"

There may not seem like a bunch there and there may not be, but it’s about a fifty percent chance it’s more than just a nothing. Here’s the bottom line if there is such or has been such a meeting.

Durant is either going to tell the Brooklyn Nets’ owner that he has had a change of heart, meaning he wants to stay in Brookluyn to work it out, or he’s going to reiterate his request. He will tell the guy that he isn’t going to change his mind, so pick up the pace on moving him every chance he gets.

There is nothing in between those two options. They aren’t just meeting for coffee.

This is a meeting with a purpose and either way it fiinishes—the results will be telling for the Miami Heat and their chances of landing Durant.
