Caleb Martin continues to expand his game for the Miami Heat

The Miami Heat are coming off their third win in a row and a much-needed road win after going 1-7 in such circumstances prior to their win on Sunday evening in Atlanta. Also coinciding with their three-game winning streak though is another three-game streak for the Miami Heat—well, for one of the Miami Heat’s key players this season anyway.

Caleb Martin scored 20 points for the third straight game on Sunday, finishing with 20 points, nine rebounds, and four assists. This would also be his first time with such a streak of 20-point showings in the NBA.

Knowing he would have to step into an expanded role this season as the team’s starting power forward, especially after the exodus of P.J. Tucker, Caleb Martin came back with a new deal and a new attitude. And he’s stepped right in and flourished in said role.

In fact, he’s probably made the Miami Heat look like geniuses. After allowing Tucker to walk and retrieving Martin on a three-year deal for about $20.4 million, you look at the two of them so far this season with great contrast.
