The Miami Heat have only made one move thus far prior to the NBA’s Trade Deadline on Thursday and in that one, they didn’t even bring back a player. Sending Dewayne Dedmon to the San Antonio Spurs to relieve a roster spot, the Heat may find it beneficial to actually acquire a guy before Thursday.

Looking at the Miami Heat, they have had a need for depth and more quality, at times, along the ranks of their bigs, including both the power forward and center positions if they can help it. And with that, it seems that they may have interest in one particular Phoenix Suns forward—and no, it’s not Jae Crowder.

The four-man, reportedly, on the Miami Heat’s radar is the versatile European big, Dario Saric, who has recently seen a resurgence in his minutes and consequently, performance on the floor.

The Miami Heat, with a need along the ranks of their bigs, have yet to make a move to actually get a guy. They’re reportedly interested in Dario Saric though.

Again and though there is a report of interest by the Miami Heat themselves, there are those out there that support and cover the club that seem to think this isn’t an option that will make much difference.

However and on the contrary, you simply ask this. Why not?

Why not Dario Saric and why can’t he help this Miami Heat team? For a Miami Heat team that’s been bereft of size and depth at the four and five positions, for what seems like much of the year, a nearly 7-foot Saric, who is actually a four-man but can also stretch the floor, seems like an ideal pickup.

Though they may need to add more, he can certainly help. He has his issues as a player, but he definitely has his benefits as well.

He helps with outside shooting, another area of challenge for this Heat team this year, while he also shouldn’t cost that much in the grand scheme of it all when it comes to trade compensation. And this is all with the backdrop being an asset-challenged Miami Heat squad, meaning they don’t have a ton of contracts or players that other teams want.

So, if they can land a guy like Saric and especially at this point, a low-risk but high-potential reward type of guy in the wee hours, then they should do so.
