With the Miami Heat all set to entertain Kevin love after his buyout with the Cleveland Cavaliers is officially done, this presents itself as a big opportunity for the team in South Florida as they look to make a strong push into the postseason during the second half of the regular season.

And here’s the thing, even without love, the rest of the Eastern Conference doesn’t seem to feel too good about the Heat if tasked to face them in that scenario. Basically, the rest of the Eastern Conference, likely the entire NBA, knows that the Heat are still a threat.

Even for all of their bumps in the road thus far, other teams know that there is a better chance than there isn’t that this group will have it together by the time that it matters the most. And this reported notion from the Cleveland Cavaliers proves it.

The Miami Heat have had quite the year thus far, enduring a ton along the way. However, even for all that, they are still a known threat in the East.

For fear that Kevin love could be a key player that helps put the Miami Heat over the top, Cleveland probably bounced that whole thing a time or two as well. It’s a scenario that could certainly bite them in later potential meetings.

While they likely wouldn’t be able to prevent where he signed assuming they bought him out, terminating their rights to dictate his future or anything about him—it does say a lot about what others might think about Miami’s chances and especially if they had a guy like Love and what he brings.

Missing shooting and a big man’s presence in a lot of areas, such as rebounding or easy buckets near the rim or in the paint, the Heat remain just a piece or two away from being one of the teams surely capable of contending for the NBA title.

With Jimmy Butler and what he’s shown across his tenure, this current All-Star version of Bam Adebayo, the assertive one with the lethal mid-range jump shot to go along with all the rest of his special talents and gifts, this Miami Heat team is certainly capable of making noise as they have for the better part of Butler’s Miami time in a Heat jersey if they can add just a few of the right of kinds of pieces.

Love fits the bill.
