The Miami Heat have a lot to fix across their remaining 20 games of the season or so. They’ve put on one of the most horrid two-game shooting displays that one could offer in their last two matchups against the Milwaukee Bucks and the Charlotte Hornets, both on the road.
And the Miami Heat had better hope for improved shooting more sooner than later if they want to ultimately contend in the playoffs. Well, if they want to avoid the play-in territory and even have the opportunity to make the playoffs in the first place, that would be wise as well.
But among all of the chaos that has been their rock-bottom offense in the last few games, there is still the acquisitions of Kevin Love and Cody Zeller.
The Miami Heat couldn’t hit the ocean in their last two games, something that’ll need to improve hastily. But Cody Zeller, amid it all, has been good.
And while Love still has to continue to get his legs under him to play the minutes that he’s being asked to play by the Heat, while also continuing to find his spots in their offense, Zeller has seen himself fit right in. A guy just wants to do the dirty work, he’s actually appearing to be a Miami Heat guy right out of the gate.
Offering them size, rebounding, hustle, great screen setting, and even a slither of sneaky athleticism that can be displayed on some of his finishes, Zeller has been a breath of fresh air among toxic Miami Heat offense in their last two games.
And again, while the Miami Heat have to clean up on the offensive side, hopefully by being able to find some shot-making from somewhere as they finish the season and head into the playoffs, what Zeller has shown will be more than useful as well.
Still just 30 years old, he’s already making a strong case in these two games to be with the Heat beyond just these remaining 20 games or so in this season.
