Isaiah Stewart is a player who would make a ton of sense for the Miami Heat, and he'd be an excellent fit next to Bam Adebayo.
Giannis Antetokounmpo aside, there's another rumored trade target that would make life a lot easier for Bam Adebayo and the rest of the Miami Heat's frontline: Isaiah Stewart.
Because of his defensive toughness and with the physicality that he plays with, Stewart would be a welcome sight for Bam in Miami. Regardless if the Heat are able to land Giannis or not, Stewart is a player whose impact could pay dividends for the team.
How the Heat could land Isaiah Stewart
According to Jake Fischer, Stewart is a player who is on the Heat's radar heading into the offseason. Because the Detroit Pistons have previously been linked to Tyler Herro, I'm sure there's some sort of trade permutation that would involve the Heat getting their hands on Stewart.
Whether that actually happens or not remains to be seen, but it's certainly another big man that Miami could be trying to get in their locker room.
In an ideal world, the Heat will be able to land Giannis via trade before the 2026 NBA Draft. Depending on what that blockbuster deal ends up looking like, only then would the Heat's chances of landing a player like Stewart be truly revealed.
But if that doesn't end up panning out for the Heat, there's a scenario where Miami could send Herro to Detroit for a package that includes Stewart. While that would be viewed as a very small move for Miami, especially compared to one of Giannis, it's one that would help bolster the frontcourt in a way that can't be measured on paper.
What Isaiah Stewart could bring the Heat
Stewart is the type of player whose impact goes well beyond the stat sheet. Even at just 6-foot-8, Stewart plays way above his physical measurables. The toughness and defensive motor that he would bring to the Heat's frontcourt would be immeasurable.
Even his counting stats, which aren't bad (10 points and 5 rebounds), don't speak to the level of impact he'd bring to Miami.
For one, he'd take a lot of defensive pressure off of Bam. He's not the versatile defender that Bam is, but he's a bruiser who would help take some of the defensive wear and tear off the superstar forward. That alone could be considered invaluable for the Heat, especially considering how much Bam has to carry on that end of the floor.
Even if Kel'el Ware is still here, Stewart would help give Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra another body that he could pair alongside the young center.
There is still plenty of uncertainty revolving around the Heat heading into the start of the offseason, and it appears Stewart is another name who could make sense for this team. And, in theory, Stewart would be an excellent addition for the Heat. Giannis or not.
