On a day that was all about Giannis Antetokounmpo, Pat Riley couldn't help but tease a potential return of LeBron James to the Miami Heat.

Speaking on the acquisition of Giannis, Riley said that there was still "another plane" that needed to be landed. Many presume that Riley was speaking about the possibility of LeBron making a return to the Heat.

“We landed the plane. There’s another one we have to land”

Pat Riley continues to keep the LeBron James dream alive

If nothing else, he continued to feed into the hope that LeBron could still choose to sign with the Heat. Even though we're in the middle of July, LeBron has yet to make a decision. From everything that has been reported, the Cleveland Cavaliers, Golden State Warriors, Philadelphia 76ers, and Heat are still in the sweepstakes for LeBron.

However, as Riley admitted later on during the press conference, no one really knows what LeBron is going to end up doing.

While the Heat find themselves back in a waiting game for LeBron, similar to the way they were back in 2010, things are certainly different this time around. Miami has already made the biggest splash of the offseason with the acquisition of Giannis.

Back in 2010, they were looking to be on the right side of such a move with LeBron. This time around, if the Heat were to "land this plane," it'd be a great addition to what the Heat already have in place.

The Heat's offseason is not predicated on LeBron. They've already won with Giannis.

More than anything, that's what Thursday was all about. It was a coronation of the move for Giannis. It was the start of a new Heat era, around Giannis. LeBron would certainly be the cherry on top of what has been another banner offseason for the Heat.

LeBron would legitimize the Heat

All that said, even after the Heat celebrated Giannis, it's something that you just can't stop thinking of. That's the lure of LeBron. Even at 41 years of age, LeBron is still a player who can change the landscape of the NBA.

If he were to make the decision to join the Heat, he would immediately make them an instant contender in the Eastern Conference. I mean, to a certain extent, the Heat are already there. But adding LeBron to the roster would certainly bring a level of legitimacy that Miami needs, even with the addition of Giannis.

But, as Riley noted, it's all one big waiting game. And, even on Giannis' big day, Riley couldn't help but keep the door open for a LeBron reunion.
