Tyler Herro's time with Heat is all but over (and fans should realize that)

It's just time to go; everyone knows it.

With many expected changes coming to the Miami Heat this summer, the one name that continues to fill the rumors and speculation is Tyler Herro, who has given all he can to the Heat during his seven years wearing their jersey.

Herro is no stranger to trade talk; he's been involved in those conversations for the past two seasons, but has managed to stick around, fighting to get back on good terms with basketball. Unfortunately, Herro's time appears to be up, and this time, it's all but certain that Heat fans have seen his last game.

The problem is that the market for Herro may not be there right now; it wasn't at this season's trade deadline, and it wasn't last offseason either. For the sake of the Heat and Herro, team president Pat Riley has to figure out a way to move him this time. An inside source with the Heat believes it's only a matter of time now, and Herro knows it.

Tyler Herro has gone through enough and needs to move on from the Miami Heat, per Heat insider Ira Winderman

Herro truly has given it all for the Heat. On the floor, he's been about as consistent as a No. 3 option (and at times a No. 2) can be; he's also been one of the Heat's primary scorers over the years. Herro has averaged over 20 points per game in five of his seven seasons, and the two where he averaged less were his first two years in the league.

You can't deny Herro's production, just as you can't deny who he's been off the floor. As a model citizen, Herro has been a solid locker room guy, a great teammate, and has never complained or griped about his role in Miami. The only unfortunate element going against Herro is his health, or lack thereof.

Injuries have played a large part in the Heat putting him in trade rumors, because in Miami, if you're not available, well, let's just say Riley feels some kind of way about players who sit on the bench rather than running the floor. This has what's bitten Herro in recent years, and the emotional and mental toll may be why Herro needs out, and why it's best he get out, according to Heat beat writer, Ira Winderman of the Sun Sentinel.

“I think Tyler Herro thinks he has (played his final game with Miami)," Winderman said. "I think it’s just been too much. It’s been nonstop, it’s been incessant that you can say, ‘Hey, you only showed up in 33 games this season, you have no right in that.’

“When you hear every single year you’re going to be moved somewhere else, I think it wears on you. I don’t think Tyler Herro can be his best self in Miami. I think he’s been knocked down too many times.”

Wherever Herro goes next is uncertain. It's likely that whoever the Heat try to trade for this summer, Herro will be involved in that trade one way or another. Either way, Heat fans should get ready to say goodbye to Herro. He's ready to thrive somewhere else, and hopefully, he'll have health and success there.
