With the NBA Trade Deadline just around the corner and on the horizon, the Miami Heat have yet to make a move. Well, they have yet to make a move of substantial difference to their roster and fate moving forward.

Only sending Dewayne Dedmon out to the San Antonio Spurs, they have yet to bring back a player or any sort of help other than the cap and roster relief of the Dedmon deal. In any event though and if you look at the moves being made around the league, all of the Miami Heat’s potential acquisitions are drying up with every moment that passes.

That’s Thursday drama, but if you take a step back to Wednesday night for a second, there is a bit of intrigue left there as well. Just after the Miami Heat defeated the Indiana Pacers, 116-111, behind tremendous performances from Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo, the former had a very interesting take on the Miami Heat’s potential trade scenarios.

The Miami Heat may be in the business to move Kyle Lowry. But that’s ‘funny business’ according to their best player, as Jimmy Butler insists he stays.

When asked about the rumors surrounding Kyle Lowry’s future with the Miami Heat ball club, here’s what Jimmy Butler had to say.

Note, very specifically, and at the end, where he says, under his breath, that Kyle isn’t going “anywhere”. This was always a dynamic that was up for consideration.

Being highly publicized that he and Lowry had a tight-knit relationship upon Lowry’s initial arrival to Miami, considering Jimmy Butler’s feelings on the topic was always something that wasn’t talked about enough.

And while Jimmy isn’t the general manager, the main decision-maker, or basically—Pat Riley, you do understand that a move can certainly still be made involving Lowry. However, you also understand that Jimmy Butler’s opinion absolutely matters as well.

So, we’ll keep our eyes open as the deadline nears, as sparks still may fly.
