In a perfect world for the Miami Heat, Tyler Herro would be part of the headlining blockbuster package sent to the Milwaukee Bucks in exchange for Giannis Antetokounmpo. However, even if that doesn't materialize for the Heat, it does seem as if Herro's time in Miami is effectively over.

Giannis trade or not, all the tea leaves suggest that the Heat plan on trading Herro this offseason.

The fans feel it, the front office is hinting at it, and that reality may finally be setting in for Herro himself. And, honestly, it's probably for the best.

Tyler Herro has divided the fan base over the last few years

That's because over the last few years, Herro has become one of the more divisive players in a Heat uniform. And, at that point, it's probably better that Miami trades him than the alternative. That is signing him to a contract extension that will, naturally, divide the fan base even more.

Surprisingly, Herro has quickly become one of the more polarizing players in recent Heat history. Fans either love him or hate him. There's no real in-between. That's never a great position to be in for a player.

It's unfortunate it's come to this for Herro, considering how beloved he was during his first two seasons in the league. During his first two seasons in Miami, he was one of the most appreciated players on the roster.

He played a big role in the Heat's run to the NBA Finals in the bubble playoffs in 2020, which was technically his rookie season. He carried that momentum into an even stronger sophomore season.

When it all began to change for Tyler Herro

However, almost as soon as he was elevated into the starting 5 (or when true expectations were introduced), it seemed as if everything shifted on a dime for him.

Whether it was the added pressure, the rest of the league catching up to his tendencies, opposing teams exposing his struggles defensively, or the front office labeling him as an "untouchable" in most trade talks, Herro emerged as quite the polarizing guard within the Heat's fan base.

You were either viewed as a Herro lover or a Herro truther. It's gotten so bad of late that it's unfortunately going to alter the way he's remembered in Miami, if he's indeed already played his final game in a Heat uniform.

Herro is a good player and should be remembered as one of the Heat's best developmental success stories in team history. However, because of the divisive debate around him, that's unlikely to be the case.

But, fortunately, it seems that the Heat are finally poised to put this conflicting Herro situation squarely behind them.
